FinCEN Real Estate Reporting
Hey there my Wicked Title Folks. Cheryl here. The hot topic in the industry right now is the new FinCEN Real Estate Reporting requirement. As always, I spend my time doing the hard stuff, so you can carry on with day-to-day business, and this week it's no different. I dug in deep, read the new rule, and deciphered the who, what, where, why and most importantly, HOW of implementing this new requirement.
Keep your eyes on your email on Wednesday. I'm breaking it all down. For those in a hurry, I've summarized the key details at the top. I even recorded a quick 5 minute video for you!
For subscribers who want to know everything, I'm giving you that too. An Operations Manual "How To" Step-by-Step guide on how to comply with the law in your transactions along with sample forms and affidavits, as well as a deeper dive defining terms and answering the questions you're most likely to have. I've even gone so far as to create a handful of training slides you can use, rebrand, and edit to train your staff.
Pulling together this sort of information for you is time consuming. I'm not a subsidiary of an underwriter, or staff at a big software firm. I'm one person, doing what I love, for an industry that I love. I need your support so I can keep doing it. So please, consider becoming a subscriber. There are TONS of perks. Subscribers get the whole FinCEN Reporting Package at no extra charge, including free updates if anything changes. Or you can purchase the kit in the Wicked Title Forum shop (purchasers will also receive free updates!) The price will go up over the next year, so get in early while you can.
Wicked Insights: Crowd-Sourced Solutions
Question:
Do you have weekly team meetings at your title office?
How do you structure them and what do you find most valuable to include on the agenda?
Answers:
Some respondents said they held weekly meetings while others held monthly. Some officed used that time for reviewing title files and resolving issues while others were sales focused, using the time to review numbers and set new sales goals. Meetings were also used for education, training, and customer service initiatives such as writing thank you notes to clients.
